How are ya doing?

Everytime the angmos meet you, thats what they will say. Usually i will reply with a hi to them. Everyone here smiles at everyone else (most of the time) even though we might not know each other.

Most angmos here think that Singapore is in Mainland China. Which is pretty sad. One of my friends, HUILING, proclaimed that we all have a mission in this travel, which is to tell everyone we meet (Americans) that Singapore, is NOT in mainland china, and is a separate country of its own.

Oh and i realised that if you talk to them in your normal accent, they will not be able to understand you. So now I talk to them in a phony accent. Back in sg, i couldnt stand ppl who talked in a phony american accent. But unfortunately, its one of the things that cannot be helped now.

I'm doing housekeeping jobs here, got assigned BIG cabins to clean. BIG Big ones. So big that i cant finish cleaning. and my hands are turning red and dry from all the chemicals that i use.

The only happy times are during my meals and after work. I love all the food here! Just made myself a beef burger for lunch today and it was fantastic. YEAH! they have all the ingredients and you can choose what u like and assemble it yourself.

It feels like a chalet here. My dorm is nice and its like a hotel room. Some american commented that if one stays here for too long, you will grow dumb. I think thats true. My life is pretty routine now and not much thinking needs to be done everyday. The most amazing part is that i have been able to stop watching tv and reduce the amount of hours i spent on the comp!!
