1. Emails impede work progress. Avoid unnecessary emails whenever possible. But when you have nothing to do, checking your email is the best way to pass time.
2. Arrive in office early. (Big shots always come in early)
3. Learn to stifle yawns. (i'm an expert at yawning with my mouth closed now)
4. Avoid eating too much during lunch, lest the "ALOWS*: After Lunch Office Worker Syndrome" kicks in..
5. Counting down to the time to knock off is a real torture. Minimise the torture by only counting down from 5pm onwards.
6. Drink lotsa water and eat lotsa sweets to keep yourself awake.
7. Always nod during meeting, even if you dont know what is going on.
8. Avoid getting into technical conversations with your colleagues. You'll never understand what they are talking about.
9. Look busy all the time.
10. Stop sneaking to the pantry for food. (At least do it when nobody is looking...)
*ALOWS is a syndrome whereby you will start nodding off uncontrollably during work after lunch. It becomes a real struggle to open your eyes.
